As existing participants will know, I have been concerned as to the falling numbers of those participating in the Postals, We have reached a point where, particularly with Open, there are insufficient numbers to make a viable competition if one or two participants do not record a score each month.


Reduced numbers have been due to a number of factors. Firstly, in the last five years we have not been able to recruit new members, perhaps due to the general emphasis on F5J rather than eSoaring. Secondly, the average age of those participating has been increasing to a point where we are losing members because of illness or family commitments. On top of all these problems, there has been Covid to deal with preventing a full season as before.


And, finally, both Mike and I now have health problems which make it impossible to continue the administration of the Postal Series and we have been unable to find a replacement.


It is with regret, therefore, that there will be no more Postals. Thanks to you all who have participated over the years.
