All: Please heed the request from the MSA chairman and keep to the very edge of the meadow upon arrival.

Hi Cliff
For tomorrow's comp at Upton could you please ask competitors to drive around the outside of the field rather than driving / parking in the centre. The farmer will get upset if we damage too much grass as he cuts it for silage.

It's no problem for us to walk into any part of the field to fly.

Once again Phil has beaten me to the keyboard. I'm covinced he puts a copy of the results up whilst he's driving home!

Drove to the field under a cloudless sky and was convinced the day would be full of maxed out flights right from the start.
A cold wind sprang up just as the first slot got underway. This kept the flight times down until the skies cleared and the sun came back out around lunchtime. This improved the situation but some sharp soaring skills were required to make best use of the lift available.

Unfortunately we had one mid air during one slot. On the upside the competitors involved were able able to fly their models for the rest of the day - but each have to spend some time in the workshop to rectify the damage inflicted.

Congratulations to the class winners. Steve Hannon took the open win and Gordon Brown the two metre.

It was interesting to see that the first six places were taken by Malvern Soaring Association members.
Good to see Roger Keatley ace his last slot of the day with his 2M model against the open class models!

In closing I'd like to thank everyone for clearing the field of the equipment and sorting the tapes out at the end of the day - it's appreciated.

Our next comp. is again at Fish Meadow, on Saturday 17th June - hope to see you there.

Regards to all,

Cliff
