COMPETITION CANCELLED DUE TO EXCESSIVE WIND SPEED FORECASTS - 20/10/17

Further to the disappointing news about the Grasstrack event that threatened the re-run of the final round of the 'Brucie' league.

The competition is now back on, but at a new venue.

Thanks to Dave East for acquiring an alternative field for this event on the planned weekend of 21/22 Oct.

It is at Slimbridge, just a few miles off J13 of the M5.

We'll stick to plan 'A' re: the entries. ie reserve both dates, and decide whether it will be on the Saturday or Sunday nearer the time, depending on the forecasts.

As everyone that has entered so far, have indicated they will be available either day I'll keep it as recorded. If your circumstances have changed, please amend your entry in the thread below as usual.

Dave will post detailed directions to the site - SEE BELOW..[/color].

This is an extra comp (to replace the Pillerton comp that was lost on the 1st Oct due to bad weather) so that points for the Midland Championship can be accrued over the full six rounds. With the best four from six to count.

The day selected will depend on the weather forecast on the preceding Thurs/Fri.

We are taking a leaf out of Mike Proctors book as he does for the Wetlands events, in the hope that at least one of the days will be favourable !

Therefore, when appending your name to the entry list, please indicate which day/or both you will be available.

08.30am to 9.30am – Signing on, flight testing and Altimeter checks where required.
09.45am - Pilot Briefing
10.00am - Contest start time
After three or probably four rounds - 30-minute lunch break
04.30pm – Contest ends.
05.00pm – Results and Prize giving.

A £5.00 entry fee is payable at sign in.
(Note: This is not a BMFA National League event)

A loan approved H/L switch can be provided if required at a fee of £5 for the event.
If this is your first esoaring event then the switch will be loaned F.O.C

Despite our best efforts to re run this event it has been thwarted.

We have just found out that:

Fish Meadow has been let out for the weekend (21/22) for a Motor Cycle Grass Track Racing event.

We have no option but to postpone, if not cancel this event.

Please look out for an update on this thread.

Direction to Slimbridge field, 21st or 22nd Oct.
This is the best way,as there are major road works in the area.
Sat nav, entrance to field, GL2 51.729754,-2.388118

Turn off the A38 at the roundabout (with the Dursley turning A4135) towards Slimbridge into St John`s road, travel 0.4 miles, then turn left into Moorend lane, travel 0.5miles then turn right into Lightenbrook lane, travel 0.3miles and the field entrance is on your left. Good luck, Dave.
