We were not certain at the time but Saturday looked set to be the best of the 3 Bank Holiday days and so it transpired.
Wind was a mite on the blustery side, from the NW and it created interesting moments on landing (well that's my excuse) when, on several occasions, models were dumped flat onto the ground by some great invisible hand! Damage was rare however, being generally restricted more to bumps, than battering.
Flying standards were high and some good lift was available at times but there were more spells where just plain good consistent flying was the order of the day for success.
Neil Pritchett is more used to F3K gliders, so 2M models are big to him but maybe that just makes them easier to see; whatever, he flew with considerable consistency to take the top spot.
Paul Lewis has flown in very few competitions but made the trip from York worthwhile with a display of steady flying and improving landings, to grab second place with a Q12
Gordon Brown maintained his high standard of 2M flying with his homebuilt, to take 3rd.

Overall it was noticeable that the standard continues to imrove in 2M eSoaring and that the class offers a very good level of competion, at a reasonable price. The Q12 still seems to be the model of the moment.
Reducing the launch height to 175m increased the difficulty factor and caused no specific comment; it should maybe become the norm for eSoaring?

NO RESULTS FOR OPEN ESOARING AS SUNDAY WAS A COMPLETE WASHOUT!!
