Confirmation from the MSA lads, that the tunnel is clear and the field has dried out satisfactorily. See y'all Sunday

Due to the comp on the original date being called off, the re-run will take place on the reserve date 31/3/2019.

PLEASE NOTE: By popular request this comp will be held at Fish Meadow (NOT Pillerton).

Entries are invited for the re-run of the 1st BMFA/Midland Region E'soaring competition of 2019 at Fish Meadow
Upton Upon Severn ( With thanks to The Malvern Soaring Association ) on Sunday 31st March 2019.

Fish Meadow is at Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, Upton is situated on the banks of
the river Severn and lies mid-way between the towns of Tewkesbury and Malvern. It is close to
Exit 1 on the M50 motorway.

On leaving the M50 at exit 1, take the A38 north for three miles, in the direction of Worcester,
to the staggered junction with the A4104 at Bluebell Farm and signed to Upton upon Severn.
Turn left on to the A4104. In one mile you gain access to the flying field via a slip road from the A4104
(near the Marina)

When aproaching from the East, the slip road is on your left an about 100 yards before you reach the bridge
over the River Severn just a few yards past the entrance to the Upton Marina.

The slip road runs parallel to the main road towards the bridge and river, follow the slip road slowly and go to the right and
follow it down the slope and under the tunnel this then opens out into Fish Meadow. Access is normally
controlled by a locked barrier but this will be open on the day from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM on the day of the comp
and again in the afternoon.

A post code of WR8 0PB will put you on the slip road but do not turn left into East Waterside.

8:30 to 9:30- Signing on, flight testing and Altimeter checks where required.
9:45am- Pilot Briefing.
10:00am Contest Start time
after three or possibly four rounds - 30 minute lunch break

Ok Roger, thanks.

Yes I understand parts of the field are flooded as is the tunnel into the field.

If it proves unusable we will return to Pillerton for this event.

Confirmation of venue will be published towards the end of next week.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your entry, no problems with a timer as we all time and spot for each other.
I you're not flying there's a strong chance you will be timing a fellow competitor.
Bring your stopwatches, some sarnies and a flask. (Some thermal spotting sunglasses would also prove useful)

Rest assured there will be plenty of help available!

Regards,

Cliff

PS: Please make sure your Altis is set to 175m
