1st Southern BMFA eSoaring League event at Ashurst - Sussex on 19th April 2009

Event Info Only - please register at

It would normally be a little early to post details of this 1st Southern Event, but we are already being asked about registration, and a few entries have already arrived by email. There are also several pilots flying in the Southern League this year, who have not flown any BMFA eSoaring competitions previously and are not familiar with our "system" and we hope that this early post will cover most of the questions being asked.

There are several ways to register for Southern League events:

A) An invitation to register will be placed on this forum two weeks prior to the event and you can then register by posting to the forum. (Preferred method).
B) By email to or
C) By ringing Martin Bell on 07785 113922, leaving a message if he is not available.
D) By text to Martin Bell on 07785 113922.
E) By direct contact with Bernie Jones, who is the host club's representative for these events. Email address - or phone/text 07740 181861.

In all cases we will need to know:

1) Your name.
2) Preferred Frequency plus 2 additional frequencies (or 2.4GHz).
3) Class being entered - i.e. OPEN or 2 METER.
4) If you require the loan of an altimeter switch for the day.

A £5.00 entry fee is payable at sign in for the event on the day plus an additional £5.00 altimeter hire fee should you not have you own unit.

Proof of insurance cover (BMFA membership card is sufficient) will also be required on the first occasion you fly at any BMFA eSoaring league event in 2009.

We will be downloading flight logs from every competitor during the first few contests this season and all pilots will therefore need to ensure that their altimeter loggers are readily accessible and available during the normal 30 minute mid competition break and/or immediately after each event.

Should you have ANY questions or queries, please email
