"More blustery than Saturday but not as wet as Sunday" just about sums up the Monday F5J comp at Buckminster. The wind has shifted a little and was E the whole day. Launching needed care and pretty soon people were waiting a few seconds to have a clear patch to establish a climb pattern. Landing was more tricky and several land-outs in the field took place, along with quite a few tapes being missed altogether. At least 2 others landed out of the field but fortunately without much damage; one such was eventual winner Peter Allen, proving that a lost round does not necessarily mean a lost comp! Second was a stunned yet consistent Cengiz Philcox, followed by Phil Brandreth, in much the same condition in 3rd place.
Launches were around the 125/150m mark.
Congrats to all who flew and survived
