Hi All
We have just enough people to make a comp so long as everyone turns up but of course it would be nice to have some more competitors sign up. No problem until Friday at 6pm for last takers!

Currently I am thinking that Saturday will be OK for our purposes but as usual will post the final decision here and by email by Friday lunchtime, so please keep watching this space!

Looking forward to our first comp of 2018 even though we have been decimated in numbers by holidays; work; other events being run or attended. Hopefully this has all happened at once and subsequent comps will be better attended.
Best wishes

Mike

Hi All

CONFIRMING SATURDAY FOR THIS COMPETITION.

Hope to get a 10.00 start, please remember to set limiters to 175m!

Still taking entries until 6pm tonight.

Depending on the lambing situation it could be nescessary to go onto the top field (4) right at the end of the track, so look there if we are not in the bottom fields.

Look forward to seeing you and starting the season tomorrow

Mike

Funny old day but almost exactly as predicted by the forecasts; very calm and total cloud cover all day.

We were constrained in our choice of field due to the presence of many sheep and lambs and in fact managed to operate from one of the small areas close to the bottom field access road. It worked Ok for a small number per slot and we were easy on any landings close to the fence for safety reasons, as it was quite near to the end of the landing tapes!

WE would have stared reasonably close to 10am but the Team Haley/Johnson attempt to correct the failed aileron servo in Simon's wing, seemed to need many man-hours; 3 present (plus a few other opinions from the orchestra stalls) and Steve's contribution by phone from Spain but all to no avail. I'm guessing there is a "How many flyers does it take to change a servo? joke but I don't know it! Maybe you do?

Anyway we got started about 11am and very light conditions went with most slots, often flown out with careful flying from 175m launch, which caused no adverse problems or comments (except "good for visibility!") Indeed Gordon Brown is to be commended as he flew into 4th place overall with a 2M entry. The last 3 rounds saw waning conditions and a few re-launches were taken, usually to good effect. Brian came first, just 4 points ahead of me and I was closely followed by Cengiz. Thanks to Ian for coming and doing the scoring, which leads conveniently to the results:-
