Technical Notes

We are investigating using electronic devices to automatically limit the energy available to the model. So far Mike Proctor has tested Watt Limiter designed and made by Wayne Giles, and Trevor Wain has made and tested a Throttle Limiter designed by his clubmate Roy Hammersley.

We are hoping that in the forthcoming months the energy limiters currently being prototyped for F5B use can be modified to suit our lower power levels. These will work by cutting the throttle automatically when the allowed energy (watt seconds, or Joules) has been used up.
